    A.L.

    Tigers-106

    Red Sox-103

    Angles-97

    Indians-94

    Yankees-90

    N.L.

    Mets-100

    Cubs-98

    Phillies-95

    Dodgers-91

    Rockies-89

  • Too early to predict but here are the TOP 5 on each league

    AL

    1) Boston Redsox - Rich just got richer

    2) Detroit Tigers - That trade they pulled was highway robbery

    3) Anaheim Angels - Added depth to their already deep pitching staff

    4) New York Yankees- AROD staying put and bringing back pretty much the same team with prospects finally playing

    5) Cleveland Indians - This team is for real with Fausto Carmona, Sabathia and a rejuvenated Travis Hafner

    NL

    1) Philadelphia Phillies- A healthy Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins is hard to stop. Brett Myers will be back starting and bullpen got better in the off-season

    2) NY Mets- Last year was very bitter but if Mets can somehow get Johan Santana, they will move to the top spot. The lineup is very good and just need to play inspired

    3) Los Angeles Dodgers - Added some needed depth defensively, got a little better in pitching

    4) Chicago Cubs - 2nd year for Lou and a better offense this year. Unloaded some bad players "finally"

    5) San Diego Padres- The best pitching staff in the whole NL hands down. Needs to add outfield help big-time

FIRST ONES out (#6) AL- BLUE JAYS , AL East is just too deep, (#6) NL- ROCKIES- NL West, that division just got better and teams will not be sleeping on them anymore

Source(s): Oh, by the way I am a cubs fan that is fair and actually follows the whole league

AL East - Boston Red Sox (98-64)

    AL Central - Detroit Tigers (105- 57)

AL West - LA Angels (95-67)

AL Wild Card - Cleveland Indians (91-71)

NL East - Philadelphia Phillies (92-70)

NL Central - Chicago Cubs (90-72)

NL West - Arizona Diamondbacks (95-67)

NL Wild Card - Milwaukee Brewers (88-74)

Very skewed picture here, especially in the NL.

Should the Reds manage to get Bedard, they would finally have a somewhat rounded pitching staff. A bullpen which looks much better with Cordero closing and Weathers in the eighth inning. Add Bedard into the mix, and you have three proven starters (Harang, Bedard, and Arroyo) as well as several candidates for the fourth and fifth spot. Should they manage to do that, and they could potentially put themselves in contention for the wild card and maybe even the central (terrible as it is).

The Braves and Mets are both a starting pitcher and one or two position players away from condenting in the east. The Braves lost a key player when they let Andruw Jones go, and still need one more starting pitcher in addition to Tom Glavine. The Mets lost Glavine, and therefore need to replace him (Johan Santana anyone?), but if Pedro comes back to his old form, they may not need him. If Ryan Church works out for them, he could play well in their outfield as well. But as of right now, I think that the Brewers and Phillies are just one step ahead of these teams right now.

The Yankees I left out because I feel like they need one more chip to get them into contention. That chip has a name, and it is Johan Santana. If they manage to get ahold of him, I think they'll snag that wild card spot from the Indians, but if they don't, their rotation will have a lot to prove going into next season with such young players. Plus, the Indians are a growing team who I think will be much better next year as they have gotten the longer that they play together.

But there's still a long winter ahead and a lot can still happen to change this playoff picture.

    NL- West-Padres 103,Central-Cubs 82,East-Phillies 95,Wild Card-D-backs 93

    AL-West-Angels 98,Central-Indians 94,East-Boston 101,Wild Card Yankees 90

NL reason- the padres will close the west in the last 2 weeks of the season, the dodgers will kill themselves again, cubs will be fighting because the brewers will be 1 1/2 games back, Phillies will gain the lead after the mets die again, and D-backs will have the lead then tank to finish as the wild card

AL reason-Angels will have a 10 game lead no contest.Indians will have a pretty good lead, sox will put a laugher on the yankees, and the yankees will pretty much cry themselves to sleep at night

    REMEMBER THIS!! LOL

a million. i do no longer spend lots of time complaining correct to the severe payrolls in baseball. My famous team, the Giants, is approximately middle of the %. (approximately $eighty 5 mil). For the main section, i do no longer likely fault the great spenders for his or her severe salaried lineups. in the event that they have the money coming in, they must have the nicely suited to spend it. that is greater desirable than them pocketing the earnings and putting an inferior product on the sector. If a team spends its money properly, they are able to place a astonishing product out their in the event that they draft properly and advance their gamers. although, I do have a situation with the Yankees unfastened spending techniques, whose in user-friendly terms approach in chasing a championhsip is to throw money at it. Their payroll of $200 mil eclipses all of the different good communities. Tied for #2 are the Cubs and Mets at a paltry $one hundred thirty five mil. This chasm between a million and 2 is recommendations boggling and information the scales too heavily. Baseball desires to agency up their cap to stem this style of imbalance. i'm no longer a Yankees hater in any respect...greater of a Dodgers hater if something, although that's getting out of hand. If I have been a Mets, purple Sox, or Cubs fan i does no longer sense accountable. Their spending is in the nation-states of acceptability and good judgment. If I have been a Yankees fan, i might probable ***** slightly. i might understand the huge benefit, and it would probable get rid of from a number of my satisfaction in winning. that is like Mike Tyson beating up on a 12 year previous. How relaxing can that be?

    Al East - Red Sox

    Al Central - Tigers

    Al West - Angels

    Al Wild Card - Yankees

Just missing the postseason - Indians

    Nl East - Phillies

    Nl Central - Brewers

    Nl West - Rockies

    Nl Wild Card - Padres

Just missing the postseason - Mets

The Phils and Brewers will fight for the NL title, and the Phillies will advance to the World Series. The Red Sox and the Tigers will fight for the AL title, and the Tigers will win. As for the World Series, it will be a tight race. I would like to think the Phillies would win, but who knows. so I am going to say that it would be a toss up.

wow after reading some of these answers i found it necessary to comment on this. For those who think that anyone but the tigers will win the AL is nuts, Let alone their division!! They have the best line-up in tigers history going back all the way to the ty cobb era. and possibly the best in baseball history depending on some guys years. their rotation is sick and noone in their division will even come close. With addin denny bautista the bullpen is sured up and when zumaya comes back its just not right. the red sox are obviously the team to beat, i mean they are the world champions but the tiigers made some great moves and made a contender the contender. Tigers over the Phils in the World Series.

And come on people, the white sox? yankees? neither will even get the wild card. wild card goes to cleavland.

one thing, as a Cards fan, HOW THE HELL DOES ANYONE THINK THE BIRDS WILL GET 95 WINS?! Rolen and Edmonds are done, we have no pitching outside of the bullpen and Wainwright. Brad Thompson is set to be our fifth starter. BRAD THOMPSON!!! Does it really matter who the top 5 teams are in the NL? I would pay big money to see the Tigers and Red Sox play for the world series. Especially if the Sox get Santana.

for the al i think it will be the Detroit tigers. the tigers have made many off season moves to make the team very hard to beat. their pitching rotation is now solid again and their batting order is strong the only question is can they stay healthy and how will Jones close.

for the nl on the other hand i do not know who will win. the mets are always strong, along with the braves. but over all i think that the rockies should be mentioned just for how they finished the season this year. and if the Red Sox told us anything about history repeating it self dont count them out until it is mathematically impossible.
