do i have kidney stones?

i dont know if i have kidney stones or not. i used to take laxitives for a long time and i stopped using them about three years ago. and since then i have started drinking alcohol. not excessively but i drink almost every weekend (like any normal college student).. but the day after i go out drinking i get a pain in my lower back, sometimes on the right side and other times on the left side, but mainly on the right one.

im too scared to see a doctor. whenever i feel this pain i usually drink about 2 litres of water and they pain wears off. is this kidney stones? have i ruined my kidney with the laxitivies i used to take?

If you have a kidney stone, you may already know how painful it can be. Most kidney stones pass out of the body without help from a doctor. But sometimes a stone will not pass. It may even get larger. Your doctor can help.

You should call a doctor if you have any of the following signs:

extreme pain in your back or side that will not go away

    blood in your urine

    fever and chills

    vomiting

urine that smells bad or looks cloudy

a burning feeling when you urinate

These may be signs of a kidney stone that needs a doctor’s care.

Kidney stones might properly be risky, my question is why did she no longer bypass to the well being facility and have them bumped off? I have been given kidney stones final August, and had surgical treatment to have them bumped off. It will by no ability be deadly, yet i don't comprehend how she might have stood them very long, mine have been incredibly painful and that i improve into peeing blood...she would be in a position to unquestionably recuperate, even though it takes some days to sense returned to everyday and he or she might ought to placed on a catheter for some days besides. maximum suitable of success to her.

Just see your doctor, there's nothing to be scared of.

The most they'll do is send you for an x-ray, an IVU. This is Intravenous Urography. You'll be injected with a dye and have an x-ray taken, this will show if you have kidney stones or not.

if you had kidney stones you would be in the most horrendous agony - it is supposed to be as painful as giving birth. You may just be dehydrated - if you are worried go and see your GP - that is what they are there for.
