I agree with YUN. I would add that the Stamp and Townsend Acts reflect the British perspective. Brits believed that the colonies existed to benefit the mother country. So, naturally the colonists should help pay for Britain's expenses. Not only were the Acts unsuccessful, they were used to inspire budding capitalist such as: Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, and others. These budding capitalists used the Acts as rationale to encourage an economic revolution that is most often mistaken for a ideological revolution.

They were meant to get more revenue for the British government to pay down their debt after the French and Indian War.
They didn't succeed very well since the American colonists revolted rather than pay them.
