I'm a Mets fan and I'm going to say no. Reyes does so much for our team. He is the reason why we score so many runs in the 1st inning every game. He is considered one of the most exciting players in the MLB and is the spark of our team. He is also extremely young and everything is starting to come together for him, defensively and offensively. Johan would be a great pickup for the Mets, but not if they were to trade Reyes. Also, if we were to get rid of him, who would bat lead off? We traded Milledge and Gomez is not ready yet. Only option would be Castillo, but will he stay healthy all year at his age?

The mets would be killing themselves by giving away possibly one of the best everyday players in the NL for someone who can only pitch every 5 days. Plus you'd be losing a guy who gets on base constantly so your run production would go down thus limiting santanas effectiveness. Id rather have a young great athlete who can play 9 innings 150 games out of the year, then a amazing pitcher who can only pitch 7 innings 30 games out of the year.

In today's game top pitching is harder to find and more important than top position players. If the Twins would be willing to do it the Mets would have to jump at the deal. The problem is that the Twins will not be able to afford Reyes and sign him to a long term contract and I don't believe the Twins would do it.
