Riddle me this...?

You come to a fork in the road. One leads to heaven, the other to hell. One path has a angel and never lies, the other, the devil and always lies. You don't know who is who and you can ask as many questions as necessary. How do you know which path to take??? (assuming you want to go to heaven)

You ask either 'guard' - If I was to ask the other if this path led to hell, what would they say?

If the answer is "Yes it does" then you take that path to heaven. "No it doesn't" then take the other path.

By asking a question that involves both guards you are ensuring that the answer given will always be a lie. If you ask the angel, they will tell you the lie of the devil. If you ask the devil, they will lie about the answer of the angel.

You ask, "Which way would your companion say is the correct path?". The liar would lie tell you that the truthful man would say to go down the wrong path. The truthful man would tell the truth and say that the liar would tell you to go down the wrong path. They both point to the wrong path, so then the alternate is the proper path.

Ask the Devil if the Angel would tell you that (whatever) road leads to heaven. If the angel is tell the truth, the devil will lie...if the devil tells the truth...the angel will lie...but the devil would tell the truth about it. lol.

ask if the man on the other path would agree this is the path to heaven. it is the path to heaven if that man says no.

you ask them questions about god because the devil hates god and wouldnt know that much and who ever is right is the path you take or the path that you can see that leads up

Ask one person, "Hi. Are my feet at the end of my legs?" Assuming that you do in fact possess feet and legs, and they are normal, the angel will tell you, "Most certainly!" However, the devil will tell you, "No, silly, your feet are at the end of your arms!"

And you go down the path whose guard passed Anatomy 101.

The question one could ask is, "If I were to ask your brother whether you always tell the truth, what would he say?" A reply of "no" means you are talking to the truth teller, a reply of "yes" means you are talking to the liar.

Another possible question is, "If I were to ask you whether you always tell the truth, what would you say?" In this case a reply of "yes" means you are talking to the truth teller and a reply of "no" means you are talking to the liar.

Both questions take advantage of the liar lying about what he or his brother would say, creating a double negative type situation.

ask the angle which way to heaven, and ask the devil which way to hell and they should both point in the same direction
