What are your thoughts concerning the global warming scare?

Here is an article from The Washington Times. Please don't be offended by it. If you disagree with it please support your reasons. Do not have this removed because it isn't blind support of Al Gore.

First of all. Anyone offended by words on a computer that you are not forced to read. Please dye your hair green so we can avoid you. Now, we could use some of that Global Warming in Oklahoma. Where is Al when you need him?

The seasons are definitely changing..or flip flopping. Its not so much global warming im concerned..its the dramatic season change from one day to the next. People forget we need a stability for the farmers and which inturn feed the meat supply. Farmers have not had a good season in quite a while and are going bankrupt. It affect us because we wont see those foods in the grocery soon or we'll just have to pay 5 bucks per apple. Im aware that people try to help by changing to recycled items but our vast oxygen supply is provided by the ocean's vegetation which is disrupted by the constant oil spills, toxic waste and such. The root of it is hard to get up because many factors lead to a mass change. But still, any little effort helps when the influence of that good deed picks up instead of being negative like that jerk

I'm reluctant to answer this because of your seeming affiliation with the buckeyes (GO BLUE!)

But anyways, the attacks on Al Gore in this article are ridiculous. He has donated everything from Inconvenient Truth to fund research (he makes plenty of money on the board of google and apple.)

The author also suggests that since there is a lack of data with regards the number of trees, we should suddenly be suspicious of the "save the trees" campaign. Lack of data neither proves nor disproves something.

Another bad point he makes is that he acknowledges that the earth was warming in the late 1800's but then says that this cannot be due to people because the earth wasn't FULLY industrialized. This is absurd, there were enough people emitted gases into the atmosphere then to change the climate. When you look at graphs showing the GHG emissions, the line grow exponentially starting from the time of the industrial revolution.Coincidence?

Lastly, he suggests that there is a plot among big business to hype up global warming in order to make more money on new technologies. This is simply a conspiracy theory, and you know what they say about them ...

    You're right... It's just a scare!

Money-making scam. Watch Al Gore & his new company get very rich!

More scientists disbelieve in Global warming...

    It has NO scientific proof.

Our weather is cyclic & has done exactly what it's doing now, in the past.

Watch taxes on so-called green things. Carbon taxes etc.

Don't you think a top scientist would have made the movie, instead of an ex-poltician? If it were true?

Global Warming is just a scare. Yes we have to be more environmentally careful and make an effort to pollute less.

But this Global Warming propaganda is nothing more than an effort by a rich lawyer, named Al Gore, to get even richer and to score political points as he files around in his private jet (that causes as much of a carbon footprint as 100s of SUVs making the same trip). He charges a fortune to tell us that polar bears are drifting on ice chunks. He fails to tell us that (1) polar bears can swim up to 600 miles, (2) the winters are in fact colder and (3) global warming is not a man made phenomena. It's an inconvenient

truth he turns a blind eye to as he struts around his Nobel Peace prize (remember Arafat also won, and Hitler, and Stalin were nominated for this B.S. prize)

Where are the hurricanes that the Global Warming crowd was warning us about.

Al Gore is a hypocrite who manages to convince a lot of people about this idiocy. There are a lot of gullible people who fall for his message. Maybe these same people can be convinced that Santa Claus can save us from this Al Gore crisis.

Is Al Gore entitled to pollute so much more with his private jet, convoy of vehicles and huge mansion as 50 American families?

A great marketing scheme to create new industries. I'm investing in green companies because most of the world drinks the kool-aid prepared by the liberal movement and served by the media.

Well recently in class we did some presentations on this. I personally think some of this is hype. Yes I believe that humans have a hand in carbon emissons of course-but we cant be the sole cause of this.

I thinkthe whole topic has gotten way too blown up. This is only my opinion.

Sorry, but I don't believe global warming - it seems to be more of a cycle than a horrid phenomenon.
