    One cut vertically

    One cut horizontally

One cut in between frosting and bottom.

    = 8 Slices

First cut it in a cross way. That's 2 cuts and gives you 4 slices, right. The 3rd cut then would be done, across in the middle of the whole cake between the base and the height and that would produce 8 equal servings.

lets say you have a round cake. the first cut would be through the width of the cake, as if your trying to place a special filling inside the cake. which leaves you with two identical round cake on top of each other. Then you make a cut vertically on top of the cake, then horizontally as well on top of the cake. that should give you 8 pieces of cake.

Cut it into fourths with two slices.

Pile the slices on top of each other and cut them in half.

And there you have eight equal pieces of a cake...

I like this riddle, how it makes us think! Good one! :)

Cut it in half and then in half again so that you have quarters. Then line the quarters up so that they are in a straight line and cut them in half - you will have 8 pieces
