The sole function of Religion (Christianity) is to provide a refuge to all "lost souls" who is so desperate..
to seek answers to three important questions:-
1. Why are we here ? Where do we come from?
2. How are we to behave? what ethic standards are we to adhere to?
3. where do we go after death?
The bible provides answers to all the three questions.........but lets think for a moment, does providing answers equals to telling the truth? IDont you think it's about the time when we should stop hiding behind the sanctuary of christianity pretending all truths are being told while your subconcious mind is casting so much of doubts over the "truth"? what do you think?

The purpose of Christianity is no different than any other business. It is to accumulate power, wealth and to ensure its own survival.
All your reassurance stuff is only what they are selling.
Your statement is like saying the sole function of GMC is to make better cars, but the purpose of GMC is to return the highest profit to the shareholders.
Religion has a great product line, better than GMC's.
Easily manufactured promises of salvation from imaginary evils, they cost little and are unlimited in supply.

The sole function of God's way of life is that we must to uplift humanity by being beneficial to society.

We were created by God, we should strive to honor him in all we do, and those who have faith will go to heaven, not because we deserve to, but because God was gratious, and the ones who were not chosen to be with God will have their just punishment. I know it doesn't seem fair, but we cannot fully understand the rightiousness of God.
