Isnt it about time the government put laws in place to save our native kiwi?

Wouldnt it be a good idea to stop dogs going into bush lands? the amount of pig dogs that rip kiwis up is enormous. Hunters who say there dogs dont do this are liers, Ive hunted all my life without the aid of dogs (lazy hunters use dogs) and have seen them attack kiwis. The ban off pig dogs in bush lands wouldnt stop the decrease in numbers but its a start. Feral cats, rats and stoats also have contributed to there decline as well as deforestation by money hungry corporations, the likes off Fletcher building and Carter Holt. So why do we stand for it? simple money.

I'm not from your country , i agree ppl that use dogs are lazy , i am not a hunter, but i agree with you if you are saying these birds are being destroyed with out being hunted for food there should be a step in, I'm not a tree hugger , but everything has a right to live, and if its not being hunted for food and dogs are just tearing them up its not right

Nothing should be on the endangered species list any more, and government funding should stop for this cause. With the use of DNA and cloning we can redirect the money spent (saving endangered species) and put a portion of the money saved toward securing the gene map of each animal, and plant. Then you hunters can kill without guilt, I'm for guns, I just don't get a thrill out of the kill feeling that hunters do. I also don't believe in wasting the peoples money for any issues such as this purpose since the animals were put here for us to survive
