I have used paypal at least a good 200 times, have never had a problem. Watch out for spam mails and dont reply to them and all should be fine.

It depends what you mean by "safe"? If youre asking are the transactions smooth and secure...the answer is YES.

If you're asking does Paypal protect you when things go wrong, ie you dont receive item, seller does a runner or problem with cards or other problems related to ebay....the answer is NO.

There are websites allover the internet with paypal nightmare stories, just google it and you will find it. Those people who say they haven't had a problem with paypal are lucky, but the more you trade on ebay, it simply increases the chances of you encountering a problem. when you do finally encounter a problem you will understand you are stuffed.

I have 150 transactions as a buyer and 2 of them were dodgy. The powerseller disappeared with the money. could not get my money back because it wasnt paid via a visa card, paypal does not protect you.

As a seller i've encountered more problems, there are buyers who only part pay for an item they buy, then say they refuse to pay the rest because its not protected by paypal, i.e they want to get something for free. the system is easily abused. But thats what ebay uses, you have no choice if you want the item quickly you have to pay by paypal.

I have used both Ebay and Paypal for several years now and have never had a problem with it. You will probably get spam emails about "your account has been suspended" or "dispute for non payment of items" etc. DON'T reply to them and ignore them.

If you are unsure if it is a scam email - log in to your Ebay/Paypal account (not via the email) and if you have received a copy on that account then it is more likely to be a geniune query.

was a verified business member of pay pal.

use pay pal for 3 years when some ones card details was stolen and used to pay for a eBay item i was selling.

i thought i was covered by pay pal, turns out i was not

i sent the goods, pay pal went direct to my bank and withdrew the funds,

i then looked into this and if anything goes wrong you do not have a legal leg to stand on.

pay pal do not care as long as they are not out of pocket.

    eBay own pay pal,

i am power seller on eBay and stopped using pay pal over 1 year ago because of the way i was treated when i too was the victim.

use person check for buying you will find your bank will cover you if anything goes wrong.

    pay pal do not care

I have set up my paypal account so that is draws money from a small current account at my bank. My paypal account does not have access to my main account so that if it does get robbed I'll only loose a few quid instead of hundreds.

I set this up because paypal is very convenient.

no they are not. I "bought" something and the seller cashed my cheque and I received no item. I complained thro ebay with proof of transaction. They would help me no more than say I should seek help thro small claims court.. The same trader has been reported for the same thing several times but ebay let him trade. He must be making a fortune.

you could ask if its safe to get out of bed in the morning, its basicly the same, be carefull, check feedback, & most importantly, if its to good to be true, dont do it.

ive used it for years with no problems, a few issues from time to time.
