I'm a Blue Belt under Pedro Sauer, love Jiu Jitsu. Its incredibly challenging and tournament strategy is very much like chess (ie the winners are able to think several moves ahead). I also train (more infrequently) in Judo and Muay Thai. Both are very good arts, if I were to only choose 1 on the basis of effectiveness it would either be BJJ or MT depending on the quality of the local schools available in my area (which where I'm at means BJJ).

check out this website. they have a directory on the site for grappling schools, including Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. Just because something isn't on here doesn't mean isn't there, of course.

The only one I know of in the area is the Japanese Martial Arts Center in Ann Arbor. It's south of I-94 off the State Street exit in the Airport industrial park just north of Ann Arbor Municipal Airport. The address is 771 Airport Boulevard, Suite B. The phone number is (734) 645-6441.

They don't have any in canton, but there is one in Wayne, a believe there is one in wasteland, and i know of one in walled lake i used to go to, but you probably don't want to travel that far for training.
