    Sex!

Semen will help ripen your cervix.

Orgasm can cause contractions which may turn into active labor.

Nipple stimulation - 20 mins at a time. Manual, let DH do it or use a breast pump.

Walking and squatting to help bring baby down to put more pressure on your cervix.

Evening Primrose Oil capsules used as a vaginal suppository to help ripen your cervix - won't cause contractions.

Get a chiropractic adjustment and/or a therapeutic massage. Both will make you more comfortable AND help to balance your body for labor.

Source(s): It's OK to have sex after your membranes are stripped. Many caregivers actually recommend it as it ups the chances of the membrane sweep working. You just shouldn't have sex after your water breaks. I would not do the castor oil. It can give you the runs and make you very uncomfortable. AND.....if it gives you the runs.....remember it can do the same to baby, which increases the odds of baby passing meconium in the womb and aspirating on it. Just say "no" to castor oil.

they say go home and wait because you have to be 4 cm dialated and dialate to 5cm within an hour of being there or be in immense pain

you dont need to be worried about anything just wait till your contranctions are 10 minutes apart and last more than a few seconds

    or your water breaks

most hospitals wont take people in the early parts of labor

i suggest Walking and castor oil to move it along faster

also you should be seeing your OB everyday at this point anyway

i was in the early parts of labor for 2 weeks then i took castor oil and a walk and it worked wonders

if you are high risk for some reason then call your OB and they will tell you what to do but i cant imagine a hospital not taking you if you are high risk even if there arent rooms available they would at least find somewhere for you to be

This kind of happened to me. I was in labor for two days and only dilated 3cm. the doctors kept sending me home and thought I was overeacting because it was my first. Then I called my doctor, the one that was going to deliver and he came and checked me and felt the babys head swoop down when I had a contraction. He said that if he didnt do something to help the labor along I could be going through that for days. and a few hours later my little girl was born. I would suggest doing a whole lot of walking and if you dont get any further hopefully they will induce you. Im sorry and I know how you feel.

Talk to your midwife/doctor about getting stripped. That'll speed your labor up.

Oh... sorry. Honestly then, I think you'll have to wait it out. The only thing I've heard that works is walking, which I did a lot of when trying to speed up my labor (false labor the night before I really went into labor). Good Luck!

My son used to be born at 34 weeks and six days via c-phase. He spent eight days within the NICU probably for respiring and feeding disorders. C-phase infants are much more likely to have respiring disorders in the beginning simply considering the entire fluid wasn't squeezed out by way of the start canal. All of his disorders have been simply moderate disorders and not anything lifestyles threatening. However, my pal had her twins at 35 weeks and each handiest spent 12 hours in NICU and have been ready to return residence together with her immediately. Your youngster might be simply quality. Good good fortune and congrats!

castor oil would do the trick....I know for a fact this is what worked for my cousin two times. Even the doctor told my sons girlfriend that it does work but uh...you know what comes with that right? I say just wait it out...its happening and babies should come when THEY are ready unless the baby or your life is in danger. G'luck!

Please don't do the castor oil....it MAY work, but it also gives you diarrhea which dehydrates you and believe me; you are about to need all the hydration and strength you can get.

Mommy2mi...listed some great options....though I'd check about the sex part with the membrane sweep.
