Vegetarians eat no animal flesh, usually due to health concerns or a limited concern for animal welfare. Some of them even continue to eat fish and call themselves "vegetarians".
Vegans eat no meat, eggs, milk, or anything containing animal ingredients, such as casein, gelatin, and whey. Vegans don’t wear leather, fur, or wool, buy products from companies that conduct non-required animal toxicity tests or frequent zoos, rodeos, circuses, or other places where animals are held in captivity or forced to perform.

A vegan consumes no animal products. Vegans do not eat milk, cheese, honey, etc. A vegetarian may consume eggs, milk, cheese or the like. Here is a link you may want to check out as a vegetarian can be broken down into other groups.

Vegans don't eat any animal or animal by-products(honey, milk, eggs, etc.), whereas vegetarians don't eat animals but do eat animal by products, sometimes not all of them, but most do. I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian (I DO eat eggs and drink milk). I'm a strict vegetarian, I also don't use animal products like leather, fur, anything with lard or any other animal ingredients and such, I won't even use fake fur or leather, and I try to stay away from imitation meats. I don't use things tested on animals either.

Vegans do not eat anything that comes from an animal. That means no dairy, eggs, no honey etc. Vegetarians just do not eat any meat.

Vegans not only don't eat meat, they don't use any animal products at all. This would include . . .
- honey
- leather
- dairy
- lanolin
- some soaps (lard or tallow based ones)

Vegans are mostly religeous vegetarians, who do not cook anything & use only organic vegetables; that may or may not be steamed;but, w/out actually cooking them!
