What is the cost of a cab ride from Termini Station to the Grand Hotel Fleming ?

Would like to know the cost of a cab ride from the train station in Rome to the Grand Hotel Fleming located on Piazza Monteleone di Spoleto, 20 . I just want to have an idea of the cost for the ride.

Is it customary to tip the cab driver and what is the going rate for a tip?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. My friend will be leaving for Rome in a few days. Thank you.

whatever the taxi driver says - just pay him that. ignore the moniter thing. they never give you that rate. they'll add on several euros for their own $, but you never tip. ever. its incredibly insulting, the equivalent of saying "here, you look like you need this..."

About 12 Euros. The tip is usually minimal -- if the ride comes to 11.80 Euros, give the driver 12. Tipping is not as prevalent in Italy as in the states. I have even had cab drivers round the fare down -- it comes to 11.20, and they charge you 11 Euros.
