Back to the Future 3 - Why didn't they canibalize the other DeLorean?

I know this was asked once before, but the answer didn't make any sense.

The premise was that Marty was trapped in 1885 because he ripped his fuel line and was thus unable to get the DeLorean up to 88mph since Mr. Fusion only opperated the Flux Capacitor and the electrical systems and not the actual engine of the car.

If you recall Doc got struck by lightning while in the DeLorean in 1955 and was sent back to 1885. Doc ended up breaking some parts in the Time Machine and couldn't get replacement parts until the 1945, so he hid the time machine in a cave for Marty to use to get back to 1985 and told Marty not to come rescue him.

From 1885 - 1955, there was a TimeMachine hidden in a cave. Marty then takes that TimeMachine from the cave in 1955 and travels back to 1855. There should be 2 TimeMachines, the one Marty traveled back in and the one Doc hid in the cave.

My Question: Why didn't they go to the cave and canibalize the DeLoreans to make a working one?

Finally another BTTF question. It's my fav movie of all times and I missed all the other questions.

Well, in reality...we wouldn't have had much of a movie if they did that.

For the fun of it though...

It was sealed up in a cave. I would think that Doc would have drained all the fluids to preserve the car. I doubt leaving a tank full of gas in a car hidden in a cave that you've instructed someone to blow up is a good idea.

Its also possible that they never thought to go back to the other car. Who hasn't gone to great lengths to get something done only to realize that there was a much simpler solution.

Background: Marty was trapped in 1955 when the movie started. Marty received the letter from Doc which contained the information about the location of the De Lorean so that Marty could return to 1985 and destroy the time machine so that there aren't anymore disruptions in the space time continuum. Of course, Marty decided to go back in time to 1885 to get Doc even though he ordered him not to.

Reason: After reaching 1885, Doc's De Lorean couldn't be stripped of parts to make Marty's De Lorean work because it had to remain in the cave in working order so that Marty could use it in 1955 to return to the future otherwise he would have been trapped in 1955.

Ok I honestly can't believe this is a serious question here but the real reason is that if Marty had traveled back in time and then cannibalized parts from the 1855 DeLorean those parts would still be missing in 1955 and Marty would not be able to travel back in time to 1855 in the first place.

I think both DeLorean's were out of gas, or Doc would have used his to get out of 1885.

But of course, the "send a mesage thru time for rescue" idea could work much faster.

Also, if they pull the 1885 DeLorean out of the cave for parts, it will never arrive in 1955! It has to stay there hidden for 70 years to arrive!

i think of that is with the aid of fact.. marty/checklist in 1885 isn't allowed to bypass get the motor vehicle interior the cave with the aid of fact in the event that they did that, the motor vehicle will possibly not ended up in 1955, the place marty and the different checklist might dig up the motor vehicle later.... sorry if it is complicated... yet while marty/checklist in 1885 did some thing incorrect or get rid of the motor vehicle some how, that motor vehicle will possibly not have been interior the cave for marty in 1955 to locate...consequently that is greater suitable to leave it there and not hardship with it with the aid of fact it could be an entire paradox difficulty....

thats a great question. i think i had the same thought when i watched the movie. really all they needed was gas so maybe the other one didn't have any either.
