I LOVE the name Tegan!! I also love the spelling Teagan, Tegan is just as great - very clean and simple, but very cute at the same time. Have you ever listened to Tegan and Sara? They're an awesome band (the two are twin sisters). That's where I first heard of the name Teagan spelled like that.
And I agree with someone else above - they should definitely pair the name with a very feminine middle name, just in case lol. It would be nice if the middle name were also more traditional, just to balance things out, like Tegan Elisabeth or Tegan Lily or something like that.
Good luck and congrats to your friends!
PS Yeah, I have to admit, I'm one of those who think Tegan to be a variation of Teagan - probably because that's how Tegan, of Tegan and Sara, pronounces her name lol. I guess if your friends are one of the small minority who want to it said 'correctly', they might have to rethink the name lol - as seen from these answers, most will probably pronounce it 'Teagan'.

Sorry but Tegan sounds way too boyish...what about Tega? Still sticks with the original sound but is more feminine. Don't settle for something generic like Megan...it's just been over done. Good luck and congrats!!!

Love the name ... assuming it's being used/pronounced properly. ;)
It seems far too many unfamiliar with the actual name simply assume it some random alternate spelling of Teagan (TEEG-an), which it most certainly is not. The two have very distinct origins and different pronunciations, after all. Love it when used correctly, however!
