Why have we started blaming political parties for everything?

Am I the only one that feels our country might be a nicer place to live if we stopped blaming everything we could on a political party?

The world hates us because Republicans are rednecks. There are too many immigrants because Democrats open the doors.

It just won't stop. When did we stop looking at individuals and start looking at only their party affiliation?

Instead of ever trying to fix a problem anymore, politicians put all of their effort into finding a way to USE the problem to make the other party look bad.

Our schools suck: Democrats respond "This never would happen if the evil Republicans weren't so bent on war."

Terror suspect gets caught: Republicans respond "Good thing Democrats aren't running anything or we'd all be singing bin Laden's praises!"

So my question is: Am I just naive? It seems to me that this is either a new trend or it's getting a lot worse. Someone older can answer, has it always been this bad? Will it ever fix itself?

Update:

For clarification, the part about Republicans being rednecks and Democrats/immigration was meant to be in a mocking tone.

Those are not my personal beliefs.

Because alot of people dont take responsibilty for their actions or anything in their lives.

Some parents want schools to raise their kids, and if they do something bad, its not the parents fault.

If someone spills hot coffee on themselves, that they just got at the McDonalds drive thru, we just sue McD. for making the coffee to hot.

In politics, its all about blaming the other guy, so you might get re-elected, instead of getting elected because they deserve the job.

I think that the issue we face as a country is that we have too many people that like to point out the problem but are too idle and prefer someone else resolve it. Too many good people are silent. But when their personal rights and luxuries come under fire, they stand up and start to fight. Hopefully we don't have anything arise that prevents us from being able to prepare a solid ground to fight back on. IE 9/11 rocked our socks off. It opened our eyes and made several of us realize we're NOT alone in the world!

It was the liberals Democrat and Republican alike who started preaching the "blame someone else" sermon back in the sixties. If you must assign blame for this screwball mentality the baby boomers in general would be a good place to start.

If you think this is a wrong way to think , open your ears to who it is that is in the business of blaming everyone else for their own situation.

Ponder this: Hillary is the first person to ever run for the presidency where communist and muslim countries are giving her money to run for it. The thing about the muslims is, their religion does not support a woman running things or having power over a man. Need I say that communisms has always been the enemy of America? She is the first person to have ever run for office thinking more of our enemy than she does of our on troops. Image this clown trying to run for the White House during WWII or the '50's. And she actually expects to be our next president?

"Terror suspect gets caught: Republicans respond "Good thing Democrats aren't running anything..."

Just an opinion? Not base on fact. When Bill was in office, remember Black Hawk Down? And I'm not talking about the movie either. Every soldier there lost his life because our so-called president at that time refuse to allow reinforcement, among other things.

As one retired Air Force Col. put it, if our president (Bill) was held to the same standards as any officers is in our military, Bill Clinton would be brought up on charges of treason.

How would you like to serve in our military knowing that your Commader and Chief thinks more of the enemy than you?

Yes you are naive. The idea that the Iraq war would have happened with a Democrat in the whitehouse is naive and silly. Some things can be blamed on the party in power.

sure, the days of personal responsibility are dead and gone. but, sadly politicians have found themselves overly eager to legislate every aspect of society. i think it is obsurd that they are have congressional hearing on steriods in wrestling, steriods in baseball, whether we as a nation should apologize for a 100 year old genocide that we had nothing to do with in another country. what a waste of taxpayer money and time. on and on and on.

brian d, i am all about stopping lawsuit abuse, but maybe you should read the facts of the Mcd's case someday. you might have another opinion there.

Politics in general is a joke. The people who are elected do nothing. They're just a bunch of liars and parasites.

Winston Churchill once remarked: "Democracy is the worst form of government except all others." Your depiction of partisan bickering has been around forever.
