whats wrong with my 1986 oldsmobile delta 88, 3.8 v6?
awhile back my car would go through ignition coils like the were candy. and i would also misfire horribly. so after we kept replacing coils, we decided to try to fix the problems. we changed the timing chain and gear, the magnet on the camshaft, got a new crankshaft sensor, cleaned the oilpan, and after all that it won't fire. we get absolutley no fire to the ignition coils. help?

Is there spark at the coil? With a scanner,is there are RPM signal to verify crankshaft sensor is operational? If the answer to the above is yes, check fuel pressure. If fuel AND pressure is OK,replace the Ignition module under the coil/coils.Make sure the grounds are making good enough connection also.ONLY DO THIS BY CHECKING THE GROUNDS AND TIGHTNESS WITH A WRENCH. Checking them by hand or visually is not good enough, especially on this model which has had it's share of these problems.

The first thing check your fuses, then check to see if you have power to the coil with the key on. recheck the crank sensor if its not lined up right the first time you cranked it you broke it. check for power 12 volts to ign system where it stops is usually the problem.

I learned this the hard way - did you reconnect the ground wire(s) to the coils?
