Does anybody know a way to get a DNA test done without the father? His family is willing to help, but hes MIA!
I had a one night stand with a kid I went to school with my whole life. We hooked up one night, and he tried getting into contact with me, but I was always at work and couldnt. I found out I was pregnant but was in a relationship with someone new. Thought it was my BF, but knew the possiblity. My daughter Isabella looks alot like Dustin the One night stander..ALOT! I brought my daughter to Dustins and dropped the bomb on him. He seen her and said she was beautiful. I gave him my number along with some pictures of her..he never called now she is 8 months old and still no word. The county has been trying to reach him to set up a paternity test, he was in touch with them once, but he never showed up to appt. His sister called me she said she read a letter I had sent him and couldnt beleive he was hiding this, she said she couldnt stand the thought of having a family member out there. She said shes willing to do what it takes to find out, also said nobody has heard from him in 2 months.

Get DNA test on child and you, then get suspect fathers sister to also provide DNA sample. If suspects father and mother are available get tests from them. Get DNA test from alternate father possibility- compare first to eliminate him. then try other group, and look for 'miachrondial(sic?) fractions of sister and see if the same show up in child- couple markers- but not all- of relatives that have same mother can be possible in child. There is some other markers from fathers side that may appear in grandchild- your child. This is technique used for some identification of deceased bones in mass graves Bosnia, etc., inheritance for missing presumed dead soldiers. Couple ethnic markers may also be clue to possible choice of father- Mediterranean ancestry, northern European, Mongolian/Native American, north or south African. Depending on identified markers and possible suspects background can be good guess with only 2 choices too pick from.

Im sorry, I don't know what MIA means! However, if your current boyfriend and Dustin are the only possible fathers for your daughter, all you have to do is go along with your present beau, and they can rule him out as NOT being the father, (if, in fact he is not!) That doesn't solve the problem of chasing Dustin for maintenance, because he could just say the child was fathered by someone else, even if you know that's not true. So, what you should do is to go along with your boyfriend and have the tests done, to rule him out.
My brother doubted that he was the father of one of his kids. He had the DNA tests done without the mother and was told the girl was almost definitely his. With only one parent tested, it cost him more, but this is Australia, and I think you are in the States. Good luck! At least you have a lovely kid!

That is a very tough spot he is in. However anyone can be a "father' it takes someone special to be a "daddy". If he loves his daughter and doesn't want to loser her or have his parents lose their grandchild, then he should definitly NOT say anything. Does he know who the father might be? Maybe the mother doesn't even know, she might think the kids your bfs 2. Well the only way you would know is to open up a can of worms you can never close again. As for your role, support your BF in whatever HE chooses. You yourself stay out of it though. edit ... also I don't know where you are and what the law of the state is there, but normally once it is proven that your BF isn't the bio father he has no rights to child, not a phone call or a visit, but doesnt have to pay support either. In some states the fact that your the name on the BC is enough to make you the legel father to where the blood test don't matter.

Do you know his mother? I am not positive, but I believe there is a way to cross check, using his mother's dna. Her dna would have some of the same pattern. I have no idea how complex or expensive this is. The reason I say this, as I was watching a program, where the suspected father was dead, so they used his mother, which had some of the same markers on the dna. This would make sense, as 1/2 of his chromasomes came from his mom. Look up 'grandparentage testing' on the internet- you should be able to do this dna testing easily.

you have got to get consent from your ex to have a DNA sample from him and only way to get the truth is through the CSA and it can be messy my advice is leave the truth laying for the time being your new boy friend if he aware of this fact and wants to help ask him to take the DNA test to see if he is the father your ex wants nothing to do with it and in the interests of your little girl is it worth causing upset you need to talk to your boy friend about it and see what can be done remember a father can bring up a child even if he is not the biological father proving he is the dad might not be in the best of interests of all concerned if you choose to ask the boyfriend to prove he is or is not the father are you sure you slept with anyone else in that given time? good luck and please think before you act this can have a huge impact on every one concerned Dave

You need to find some of his hair, that can be used in the DNA test. If there is a hairbrush he used, that still has hair trapped on it use that.

everybody's DNA is different, if she can get a piece of hair or a piece of scin or sumtin from him, a DNA test can be done with his hair and your daughters hair, or his skin with her skin.(It may cost alot to do so tho)
