Why the VISA charge to USA from HK set up so high?

Why that USA government and immigration department of United States pushing so harsh to our HKer and Chinese with high VISA charge to blocking our VISA application(even rejected /refused but charged already). I've heard one of my co-worker who just applied for short term traveling with tour agent, despite of red-tapped documents application all submit, but still rejected!!

Through the travel agent also reject, this isn't a reasonable!!!! And we are just wishing to traveling in your country for just short time. And we don't do anything break the laws of America, no terrorism, no disturbance behavior. Why ripping Chinese off so much??? Americans come to HK are just very a common happens and easily. Why can't we? Isn't that mean only approved for the rich background that bring more good economies to the US?????

I know this is kind of very offensive, but I just can't stand with this such harsh treating! Very unfair!

Update:

Of course we are back to home place from the US. Unless there's something beside of traveling, but the BIG problem is whether you get chance to STEP IN the US LAND, those money already stuffed in their US consulate's account! That's you fail from travel there, and fail from your money back too!!!

it's the price you have to pay for wanting to visit america. you're taking this so personally. it's not against chinese people... they have the same standards for everyone else too.

other countries have it easier... those that are part of the visa waiver program. they don't need visas to enter the US. but that's coz citizens from these countries often do not jump on their visas.

the US is most especially strict on citizens of china, india, mexico and the philippines. and it's coz it's already proven time and time again that it's the citizens of these countries are the ones who are most likely to become illegal aliens in the US. i'm filipino myself and i don't take offense on this. it's the truth. if they're going to get statistics on the nationalities of the illegal immigrants here... the citizens of the countries i mentioned above would be on the top 5.

heck, getting a tourist visa from the philippines is super hard. the lines are so long, it even spills out outside onto the highway! and only about 5% of those people will get a tourist visa. every friend i know who i applied for a tourist visa this year were ALL denied.

besides, the $100 fee for applying for a tourist visa is simply that... for processing fee. it doesn't mean that you get approved. you're not buying the visa. you pay for that fee whether you get approved or not.

honey, they do not know who are the terrorists, criminals or potential illegal immigrants. that's why they have to be strict about who they let in or not. if you can prove yourself to them without any doubt of your intent in coming to the US, they'll give you a visa. but you have to prove yourself without an ounce of doubt.

they're strict now coz they have to protect their country. heck, if someone bombed kowloon or hongkong, your country will become strict too. they're not just gonna let anyone in after that.

also... you are only REQUESTING permission to enter their country for a short time. they have the right to accept or deny the request. they choose to deny the request. what are you gonna do about that? nothing. it's their country and they have the right to choose who to let in and who not to let in.

so stop whining and think objectively about this. it's not against you and all chinese people. it's about them and protecting their country.

I just went with a friend to apply for a visa in Mexico. They charge $100 US dollars for the appointment here. And they want proof that you will return to your country, that you have roots there, and that you have enough money to support yourself for the stay in the US. If you go to apply again, show that you have family at home, maybe own your house, have a job that you will go back to, have money in a bank account, are a member of a church or sports group.

The cost of administration of these visas is very high and we have had enough of paying the excessive costs of tourists.

I went to China last year and couldn't believe what it cost for travel documents from the Chinese government. Every government official had their hand out.

Don't complain about the US costs.
