Yes, provided you take some precautions.

When introducing a new bird to an existing "family member" you need to take certain steps.

First, have the new bird checked by a vet to make sure it does not have any contagious diseases or parasites that it will transmit to the existing bird. This is also a good time to get the new bird's wings clipped

Second, place it in a separate cage, close enough to the existing bird's cage so they can see each other, but not close enough so they can reach through the bars of the cage and nip at each other.

After about a week, you can let the birds have some supervised socializing, either out of the cages, or in the new bird's cage. Never put the new bird directly into the old bird's cage, because the old bird will view that as an intruder entering his territory.

If it works out that they seem to be friends, you can try leaving them in the new bird's cage for several days. Then you should place them in the old bird's cage, if it is larger, or get them a brand new cage, large enough for each bird to have their own space when they get tired of hanging out together.

Placing a parakeet and a cockatiel together works because they are both hookbills and have the same nutritional needs. Never place a hookbill in with finches or canaries as the hookbills could rip the other birds to pieces.

Remember that the birds may not get along. Even if you got another cockatiel, the two birds may never get along. Birds, like people, do not like every other bird they meet.

while they have close to the same nutritional requirements and are both hookbills, parakeets tend to be more aggressive than laid back 'tiels and may attack them when you're not there.

It is fine if you have a tiel and want a parakeet to get a separate cage and have playtime out together-- supervised. While they are out they are in semi-neutral territory, and should there be a spat one can easily get away from the other.

They can still interact with each other and play while you're not there, but it is far safer to have them in separate cages.

Well yes you can this all depends on the birds like humans birds have a mind of there own some like other species like mine is with a green cheek conure and some don't. Well notice if these birds get alone if so there fine if not separate them soon.

It can work but it is not generally a good idea. Budgies are significanly more agressive then cockatiels and can injury the cockatiel.

no no no nooooooo....the keet will not get hurt but e will pester the cockatiel to death since the keet is smaller it will ride on the cockatiels tail,peck at it and this will become stressful to the teil and it will die seriously----STORY TIME----im a breeder and i sold a guy a teil he asked me can i keep them in the same cage i told him no for the reason above...he did it anyways 2 months later he was calling wanting another teil i would not sell him one

Not a good idea. If you're going to have two birds in the same cage it is best to do so from day one.
