What is with these lazy people in this section who won't bother looking at a map?

Some of their questions are absolutely appalling and are an embarassing indictment of the US public school system. Who agrees?

    I don't agree.

Most of the people on this website are trolls and ne'er-do-wells, whose entire life is centered around finding something to keep themselves occupied, rather than studying their high school courses. Unfortunately, that "occupation" is making intelligent people's lives miserable. Although we *can* ignore them, it's sort of like a train wreck: we feel compelled to watch and respond!

Equally unfortunate, is that some of the people on this web are genuinely ignorant (you need only look at their horrendous spelling - - which they'll claim is either text messaging or of which proper spelling and grammar is of no use to them - - to realize that). As such, they have only themselves (and to a lesser extent, their parents) to blame.

The only problem is that there are so few decent questions on this website, we have no choice but to answer all of them, regardless of the intelligence (or lack thereof) behind them!

Source(s): Friends and family who are very good teachers, but get really bad students (I don't mean unteachable ones; I mean ones that don't WANT to learn!).

You definitely have a point. When I answer questions like those, I try to include a link showing the location they're asking about, then tell them to check out the link.

The entire U.S. population knows very little about Geography and, from what I hear, very little attention is given to Geography in our schools. I try to leave links to good maps and information. Its up to the individual to use the links.

I like the ones where they expect you to do their experiments for them.
