Banned sales of hand guns?

Out of curiosity I did a little research and found information which seems to suggest that there is less violence in countries that REQUIRE people to own and learn how to use guns. For example, Switzerland requires that all male citizens keep fully-automatic firearms at home in case of a call-up to the militia. And the statistics indicate that Switzerland has little violence attributed to firearms. And there is more evidence as well.

Just google search for countries that ban handguns.

But I do know that most first-world countries have the lowest murder rates, like Europe, Australia, Canada, etc. The US is an exception. It has a higher murder rate, comparable to Africa, India, and south-east Asia.

Here's something you should include in your homework assignment about banning hand guns -- If hand guns are banned does that mean that the millions of hand guns in the country are going to magically disappear? Think about it..!

None that I can name but I believe the USA should. Kids are getting shot while on there cells asking for a ride home. (MN, 2007 Summer)
