A restraining order against someone but you don't know where they live?

My husband's ex is doing some stuff around here... harassing me over the net, stealing my pics and putting captions on them. Telling my best friend that she knows where I live and she's coming. I can't prove the phone calls were her (yet) but kinda a coincidence. She's just really irrational. Anyhow I know her city and state but not her address. Can I still get a restraining order against her?

In order to be enforced, the order will have to be served. Your husband should be able to provide employer and family information to the courts.

I would not wait to file the restraining order, the police will probably be able to locate her.

getting a restraining order is kind of hard until she actually does something but if you have threatening emails and you print them off and take them with you should be pretty easy as for not knowing her street address the police have a way of running her social# and pulling that info up so yeah you can still get it

If you know where she works you can get it delivered there. If you know someone that knows her they can deliver it. It must be recorded that they did it. Through legal means. Have you checked the phone book to see if she has a listed # with address? There has to be some one who knows someone that knows her. Try to get the info before you get the order. As the police will not try to deliver more than once they just do not have the time. good luck

You can only get one if they know where it can be served
