What do these clues hint at as a gift for me?
It has a heart, it has red and black in it but those aren't the only colors. It is possibly electronic and one of my passions is involved. My dad's girlfriend find's disgust as well as intrique in it. Her and I both shared it. It will provide me with many hours of entertainment. She has experienced it around 20 times and it involves another country. Lastly, it involves elements of humor, disgust, and things I'm passionate about. I don't think its sexual because I'm not that kind of person. So what would my interests of History, helping mankind, Philosophy, Symbols, Religion, and Alternative Medicine have to do with it?

It's a snake or lizard? It has a heart. Red and Black. Digust, hours of entertainment. The possibly electronic was to throw you off.
