start movie schene thingy??????
you know them b/w things that they have to start a schene in a movie, it has like a little bar on it that hits the bigger part????!! What do you call thoses?!

Movie Slate, clapper, clapboard, etc.
They are used to sync up the sound to the film I believe.

A "camera slate" also known as a "clapper."
