Is The Grinch age appropriate?
Is there any reason why I shouldn't allow my four year olds to watch The Grinch, the film in which Jim Carey plays the grinch? Is it appropriate for that age group, or is there content that they should not see?

It should be fine. Anything adult-ish would be over their heads anyway.

I think the original cartoon Grinch is age-appropriate, but not the Jim Carey one. From what I remember, it might have more adult-humor and might be a bit less-innocent than the cartoon. But it is your choice.

I would let them watch the original cartoon Grinch because it is cute and has a good message. However,I think I would wait till they are older for the Jim Carey version. He's kind of scarey and not so cute. It might scare them.

My kids are 3 and 4 I would not let my kids watch it. It has crude humor that I don't want them hearing at that young of an age. I don't feel that a lot of cartoons movies are suitable for them. They will not be watching the Simpsons movie, and they have not seen any of the Shrek movies yet either.
I just don't see why Hollywood has to put adult oriented humor in something that is aimed at a younger audience.

If they're not afraid of movies like Shrek, they shouldn't be afraid of the Grinch. Both my 4 year old niece and 3 year old daughter love it.

My sons are 2 1/2 and 1 1/2, and they love that movie.
They also love ELF.
