    Hi.

Since Members are permissible to rate answers, that's what they will do; thumb up answers and thumb down answers.

Since thumb downs do not deduct any points, then I do not know why Members complain about being thumbed down. Also, Members who complain about being thumbed down are likely to get thumbed down, since attention is earned.

Conversely, Members thumb up answers that they feel are accurate and legit, or factual.

Members down thumb answers they feel are unwanted, inaccurate and offensive.

Members also abuse the rating system by thumbing down legit and accurate answers.

    Take care.

they both have reasons to thumbs down and to thumbs up, and the reason is because Yahoo itself placed it for the people to click which one they like...

Because we can. Because you are lib and I'm a Republican. Or vice-verse. Because you wanted me to agree with your answer and I didn't. Because I'm in a bad mood. Any or all of these could be the reason. Don't take them too seriously, I don't.
