I usually just leave it up until it spontaneously bursts into flames and burns down my apartment. That's my cue to leave.

I traditionally take it down within the the first 2 weeks of January. My neighborhood association makes you take the all the outside stuff by the second week so I am forced to take down everything else.

I like to take mine down on New Years Night while watching the Football Games. Since there is instant replay, I can listen to the plays, and watch the real action. Love the Bowl games and the one's leading up to them.

I have not put up a Christmas Tree in 30 years.
There really is no set time.
You can take it down Christmas Day if you wish to do so. It is up to you when to take down your Tree.

It's been a looooooong family tradition in our house to put it up the week-end after Thanksgiving, then be sure to take it down the first week-end after the New Year!
Now honestly??? I put it up when I have time, and take it down when I can get to it. One year I didn't have to bother putting it up, simply dusted it, plugged in the lights & POOF...instant Christmas, again.
LOL!!!

You can take it down after the 12th day of Christmas. That's how they do it in my church, but we always wait a little later because we're lazy and we like looking at the bright lights. :)
