Is there any difference between Christians and Pagans?

they almost share the same practices and traditions.......like worshiping the "Sun God" which evolved to "Son of God"....sounds one and the same to me.

    No difference, just different terminology...

    magic = miracles

    magicians = wise men

    astrology = star over bethlehem

    alchemy = turn water into wine

    sun god = son of god

    winter solstice = christmas day

    This is debated, but there are some similarities for sure. Keep in mind, the very concept of God actually having a son or an incarnation does not occur at all in Judaism, and is a very pagan concept. Catholics and Orthodox Christians pray to saints, and each saint has a special function (patron saints exist for certain professions and situations, etc.). Before Christianity, the Romans used to pray to a specific god or goddess for different purposes and situations- there was a different god for different professions and situations. Odin, the Norse god, died on a tree to save humanity. And the gingerbread man that we enjoy at this time of year comes from the ancient pagan "god-eating" rituals, in which 'eating' the deity meant taking in its power, and Christians eat the 'blood and body of Christ' today. Christianity- some churches more than others- still has that pagan influence in it, no doubt about it. Keep in mind, Judaism is absolutely monotheistic, and Jesus as a Jew probably did not claim to be God incarnate- this was fabricated by the church fathers who made up the doctrine of the trinity and voted on which books to include or exclude from the scriptures. People who say "Jesus claimed to be the Son of God" are basing their arguments on books that were selected by the councils.

    Source(s): The Orthodox Church, by Timothy Ware, mentions these councils where the voting took place.

    LOL If you really think that, that you don't know much about either. Just because you are opening gifts and ringing bells on the same day doesn't mean you are celebrating the same thing. I don't care what Christians OR Pagans say about that.

    And for the record, we do not "worship the creation". I am pagan and I haven't worshiped a tree yet. At least learn about those you wish to insult. Knowledge is power.

    Check out the book of Leviticus. It's all about the differences between Christians and Pagans. Even though it's sad in our society, the differences are becoming much smaller.

    TRUE Christians don't have anything to do with Pagans or their rituals.

    God has forbidden His children to imitate the Pagan's rituals.

    (The Saturnalia - Christmas), (The Spring Equinox-Easter)

    Deut 12:4, Deut 12:29, 12:31

    God clearly told His children that He doesn't want to be worshiped as the Pagans worship their gods.

    Isaiah 1:10-15

    Listen to the LORD, you leaders of Israel! Listen to the law of our God, people of Israel. You act just like the rulers and people of Sodom and Gomorrah. "I am sick of your sacrifices," says the LORD. "Don't bring me any more burnt offerings! I don't want the fat from your rams or other animals. I don't want to see the blood from your offerings of bulls and rams and goats. Why do you keep parading through my courts with your worthless sacrifices? The incense you bring me is a stench in my nostrils! Your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath day, and your special days for fasting – even your most pious meetings – are all sinful and false. I want nothing more to do with them. I hate all your festivals and sacrifices. I cannot stand the sight of them! From now on, when you lift up your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen. For your hands are covered with the blood of your innocent victims.

    ------------------

    See, the LORD doesn't like the festivals and rituals that man devised himself in so-called worship of the LORD.

    Man cannot take a man-made ritual and then ADD Christ to it, shake well and Wholla! Christianity!!!

    No, it doesn't work that way. God has given clear and strict instructions for us not to Worship Him in the manner of the Pagans.

    He says that He HATES it . . .

    Can it get any clearer?

    God Bless

    HELLO SCOTTY BEAM ME UP!

    Why do you pretend to be STUPID?---I know you and your acting real dumb, how come?

    Just because you did a little research and found out that certain things came out of the Pagan world that christendom now teaches does,t mean that christians and pagans are equal.YES i agree that the christian belife of today is different then wnen our Lord walked the earth(ie) DEC25-was a pagan holiday to the sun god. He never talked about the trinity or taught us that he was GOD. He never spoke about Hell fire or the immortality of the human soul. (all these came from the pagan world)His biggest teaching was to teach us about LOVE for GOD and love of neighbor, pagans don,t love GOD and i surrpose only their neighbor if they are kind to them.So keep peace and don,t get involed in controversonel issues.

    Pagans look to experience God through his creation(nature),whereas Christians look to experience God through Jesus the creator.

    Yes, there are many differences.

    Christians don't believe they worship a goddess and that any other gods are "false" gods.

    That's just to start.

    Pagans worship nature in hopes to find God. Christians were reached and purchased by the God who created nature. does that make sense? total opposites
