How to top up brake fluid on VW Sharan?

I need to top up the brake fluid on my 2001 VW Sharan diesel. The fluid reservoir is positioned in such a way that it is very difficult to access. I can reach it to take the lid off but getting the bottle of brake fluid anywhere near is a near impossibility. Anyone had experience of this with the Sharan and any bright ideas

Update:

Andy thanks that's helpful - the brake warning light came on yesterday so I took it straight round to Kwik Fit who do a free brake test. They checked the brake linings and said they were fine. However, the warning light was still on so when I got home I checked the reservoir (not impressed that Kwik Fit did not do this!) and saw it is very low. You are also right in that I am taking a family of 5 on a 500 mile round trip so not taking any chances and no time to take it to a garage

The best way to do it is to get a large medical syringe with a length of plastic tubing. Suck up the brake fluid with the syringe and them "Inject" it into the reservoir.

    The first question is:

Why do you need to top up your reservoir?

Is the fluid below the min mark? yes? then get your brake linings checked out. the Sharan is a people carrier and I would guess you want to stop when you are carrying people!

If the fluid is not below the minimum then by all means do as jason says, be aware you will still need to check your brake linings

    Good luck

This still doesn't say where the reservoir is which is the first point. Assuming it's tucked away as it seems to be (skinned knuckles) then checking the level isn't easy.

Ive no experience but try putting a small funnel on the end of a piece of plastic tube
