How do you change a music file from a wma file to an MP3 file?

When I use the windows media player to rip cds to transfer to memory chip for a mobile phone it stores them as wma files. How do you change them to MP3 files??? I'm confuzzled!!! They used to be stored as MP3 files but something has changed ... Please help!!!

    If you have Windows Media Player 10 or newer, just go to tools, then options, then copy or rip music. You can select there to rip it in mp3 files instead of wma.

    Get audacity it is free software and will convert from wma to mp3 no problem.Read instructions on the audacity website, just typ "Audacity" into your browser.

    You need a converter...if you have Nero7, it would be included in that....google up "free mp3 converter"

    you need a conversion program, try searching for one on the net, there are some free ones about.

    you need a converter i recommend xilisoft im not sure if its free though
