It is disgraceful that false news stories were printed in the paper but I can think of more disgusting rumors and outright lies that were printed lately:

Obama supposedly being a Muslim.

Romney watching his dad march with Martin Luther King Jr.

Thompson having a pulse.

Let's hope they put this behind them now and focus on the real stories about Rudy: His lobbyist activities to secure contracts with the NSA for a convicted criminal and earn 30 million in the process and let's not forget Bernie Kerik. I don't think that will happen because he will now be handled with kid gloves because of the bogus story.

Note also how they used certain negatively charged descriptive like “obscure agencies” instead of “minor agencies”. “Obscure” has a more nefarious connotation. Most governmental agencies are not familiar to the public, but they are not obscure, just minor.
