What's the real purpose for the ark of the convenant???
Well, let me tell you the real purpose for the ark is? It was a device to communicate with God and his angels. You see this ark was a way for the priest to get messages from God and if you touch it you would get electrocuted. What people don't understand is technology back then was like magic to the primitive minds of the masses. The average person back then thought the world was flat for more info like this email me at (al9263@yahoo.com)

John D is not familiar with the bible there were no such things as the 10 commandements in the time of Noah .Ask people to explain Gen 7:17 when you go back to Hebrew and you read it the meaning becomes the Ark was way above the earth.Meaning it floated above the earth. This show`s one of many reasons why Christians don`t use the Old Testatment.Furthermore they took 7 by 7 as Genesis 7:2 tells us but no nasty Christians want to explain 2x2 of unclean beast read it.

Actualy the ark of the covenant was symbolistic. Inside the Ark was the tablets of the Ten Commandments. If any man did touch this ark they were struck dead, also if any High Preist went behind the veil of the temple with sin in there life they were struck dead also, this is why Preist's wore bells and a rope tied to there ankle. The Ark was a symbol of all of God's Promises to man

Throw away opinion, and go to the source for the answer:
Heb:8:5: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
The whole tabernacle was a shadow of God's plan. Including the ark.
