Has anyone read "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins? What do you think of it?

Considering America was founded by people of religious convictions, and Hitler's Nazi Germany, as well as the Soviet Union was founded by Atheist, suggests the idea that religion is the downfall of civilization is false. America has freed many millions of people, spent its treasure in helping others, even rebuilding nations that it was forced to go to war against. (it isn't perfect, but it has been good). Nazi Germany and The Soviet Union killed millions of their own people, intellectuals, priests, anyone that thought 'other' than they. They were instrumental in much death and misery.

Religion, properly exercised, is liberating, freedom loving and truth seeking. Only when religion is intolerant of the exercise of other religions and when it seeks to establish itself as the secular government does it stifle the spirit of man.

Hope this clarifies the point.

Dawkins is so full of himself. This arrogant little twerp thinks he has all of the answers. Look how long he has been alive compared to how long the universe has existed. What makes you possibly think that he knows what he is talking about? What a fool.
