I have reason to believe that I have a partial blockage of a vein in my heart.?
I am going in for an angiogram Wednesday. Are there effective chemical treatments available, or are the only alternatives available; an angioplasty with a stent, or a bypass surgury. If you know of a website that discusses this, please share it with me.

Only your doctor can tell you what is best for you. There are medications on the market, however, only the doc can determine what is right for your condition.

I had 2 arteries that were 80 percent blocked in my heart. I had no idea, had no symptoms. I got a stress test because my doctor said I should have one because I'm diabetic. The stress test was not normal. I ended up having a heart catherization and 2 stents put in. I'm on plavix right now. I don't have high cholesterol, but my doctor told me if I didn't quit smoking, it was really pointless to think stents were going to help me very long. Two different doctors told me my blockages were from smoking. I also had to get stents in arteries in my legs. One leg was 100 percent blocked for about 12 inches. Almost had to have a bypass done on that one. My other leg was 70 percent. I had a lot of trouble walking before I had the stents put in. Even across the street to get the mail, or just getting into Walmart. Now I walk 4 miles everyday.

I woud do better than just referring you to some website. I myself had the same difficulty. I am 85. I had an angiograph and it was found that there was 40 percent blockage. The doctor advised that bye-pass was advisable thought angioplasty may give some relief. In view of my advanced age he advised angioplasty. I,however, asked him to do a bye-pass. It was successful and I am leading a normal healthy life.for the last four years.Go in for surgery.

Heart disease of this nature is related to diet. A high acidic diet causes it and an alkaline diet can help turn the ship around. I would suggest you consider looking at some good books at the healthfood store.
