In answer to "WHY IS BOXING DAY SO CALLED?"?

The origins and meanings of Boxing day are as much a puzzle now as they always were. I have a copy of a cartoon drawn up in the 1840s showing a street scene on Boxing Day. There are notices in this cartoon indicating Boxing this and Boxing that, but no sure explanation.

There is even a notice board for the Stage Coach which indicates coaches going to Boxington, Boxall, Boxwell, Boxmouth and just about every other box-place you can think of.

I do not know what Boxing Day is for. I'm not sure even if anyone else other than us mad Brits actually has a Boxing Day or knows anything about it.

The links below should help, but only a bit : -

Boxing Day was when everyone put unwanted clothes, toys etc and put them in boxes and took them to the churches where they were distributed amongst the poor.
