For people who are strictly loyal to their religions?
If you are strictly loyal to your religion, have you ever researched any other religions? Or do you not out of fear of punishment from your God? Most people, when making a logical decesion that will effect the rest of their lives, will research all avenues/choices possible. You don't just buy the first car that a salesperson points out to you. You look at lots of cars. Maybe research online. You test drive different cars. You compare cars. Then, when you are ready you make your decesion based on comparison. You KNOW the car you buy is the one. So, shouldn't religion be the same? I mean, your whole life is controlled by what you believe. Maybe even your afterlife. What if you chose the wrong relgion because that is what you were taught to believe in? I just want to know how many people have based their faith on faith alone. And who have actually, in dept, researched other religions and indeed decided that they were not for them.
Yeah, I know the car comparison was bad...hehe. But I have talked to so many people of different religions who really are ignorant of other religions and what they stand for, etc. They just believe what they hear from people and decide that they are wrong.
To Set, I could'nt have said it any better myself.

I think that most intelligent people who have gone to the trouble of researching and studying religions have come to the conclusion that they are all BS.

I am a person who is Stricly (You can Call this to an Extreme sense) Loyal to his religion from the point of View of Belief.
I am a Muslim and I have strong belief that there is a God and there is no God except Allah (When called Adonai by Jews and Jehovah by JWs).
Well I also believe that Prophet Mohammad was the Last prophet that Allah Sent. Not just that I too have Strong belief in the Prophets that Came Before the Prophet Mohammad. That is in Adam, in David, in Moses, in Jesus and all other Prophets those came with the Message of Allah.
The Muslims, the Jews and the JWs know that there is a God, One God and all the Paganist customs are strayed beliefs.
" This may not be sounding nice to the Paganist and the Idolaters, But did they not look at the Way Middle-East was in the Position before the Arrival of Moses, Jesus and Mohammad? "
The people there believed in Idol Worships and On reading the Story of Moses you find that the people began to Worship a goat... And yet Allah forgave them.
These people were Humans still and So are all the Rest of you. If they Can do this Kind of an act after being Taught by Moses than why do you doubt the Same to Encroach in your Parents life? Are your Parents All knowing? Certainly they are not.
In the debate of the Three, the Jews the Christians and the Muslims... I Chose Islam. Reason why is that I find the Quran to be very Clear in its Presence (But only if I reason Myself... And anyone can find it Only and Certainly If he reasons himself)...And it takes a long Journey to Describe all that. l would want you to do this!! Go Find!! (Just an Advise..Take it or not Its all upon you as much as your life is)
When Allah created this Universe He also created Mankind. Here are We at this point and how many of Us are Aware of Allah (Adonai or Jehovah and the Scriptures that he Sent)
Well if you Doubt the Scriptures then why Dont you reason?
You will find the Scripture(Qur'an) to be speaking to you a number of times to Reason.. Will You still not Reason?

I WAS very loyal to the religion i was born into (LDS) but then I began to look around and in time I left (this began in high school). If I had been able to understand everything as a child I never would have been baptized, but of course this is too much to expect from an 8-year-old. In time, as I began to look at different religions- really look at them and compare them, spending hours pouring over books and talking to whoever I could about them- I began to realize my family's faith wasn't for me. By comparing my own faith to others, I realized that things like confessing certain "serious" sins (inc. drinking coffee), having somebody counting how many people attended the services, etc. was not normal and I officially left in October. Currently I am unsure whether or not I will follow any faith ever again or whether one day one of them might click with me.( It's like a bad breakup with an ex who won't let go, and you don't want to get into another 'relationship' for a while.) I still feel hurt and betrayed, although I do respect the church's humanitarian work and its many sincere members. Even though I have no 'religion' right now per se, I am still looking, and I still believe in God. To me, God makes enough sense logically that I feel I can put some faith in Him. I know I can't "prove" that God is there, there is always doubt- but my confidence outweighs my doubt.

Here's something to think about: for the most part all religions agree on some happenings during the time of Christ, such as: There was a man named Jesus, who claimed to be Gods only son. There was a woman named Mary, who was said to be Jesus mother. The location in which this theater unfolded is for the most part agreed upon, and many of the acts that took place are also accepted by most religions. For the most part its a matter of interpretations over the years, by these different factions and there descendants. Now compound this in not two, three, but endless directions and countless interpretations, and understandably you'll end up in a variety of different conclusions! Right or wrong? None of them are completely right or totally wrong, we would agree that whenever any document or scripture is being interpreted there will be errors, right? So why would one assume that any one religion happened to get it exactly correct? Which brings us to this: there is something profoundly wrong with any person,and/or entity, that believes its thoughts or opinions to be absolute, without fault, or not to be quested! Ignorant controlling and arrogant is what such a closed mind would be!

That is a really good question. I was raised Catholic and came to have a lot of problems with that denomination. I became interested in learning about other religions and actually hoped to get into something "exotic" and perhaps eastern. Eventually I began to read the New Testament and found a simple faith without all the trappings of organized religion. I think we should open up to other ideas than the ones we were raised with, but be very careful before changing our beliefs.

I've researched other religions, I've never done a "test drive". I don't believe there is a "wrong religion", it evolves just as many things have over time. Faith is faith, it brings hope regardless of what God others worship or what name their God goes by.

Personally, I think the phrase "faith untested is innocence" puts it best. I don't have much respect for people who follow a faith all their life that they refuse to challenge. Many people simply refuse to consider other possibilities because they are too insecure about their faith and are afraid their mind might get changed. To people like that, I would simply say that your faith isn't worth much if it can't stand up to scrutiny and still survive.

I am loyal to my religion - it took me years to find it and to get here I researched and explored other religions, including Christianity (a couple of different denominations). I still research because I feel like I'm stagnating if I'm not learning something and religions are fascinating (sometimes causing a sense of outrage but definitely interesting).
I think I am in the correct religion for me and so does my family, with them having doubted Christianity and following me into mine.

You don't have to do an ounce of research to be right, but doing as you suggested certainly makes one more certain and also more effective as they reach out to others. Just like a car, you may see one that catches your eye, or perhaps its the kind your family has always driven or has the most reliable reputation, so you start there. It makes sense. But starting from there, nobody should ever fear the truth. Jesus said "the truth will set you free." So suppose you start out as Muslim. If you ask questions, you soon find out what kind of a person Mohammad was, what he did to make the moon god the one god, and how Islam denies Christ for flimsy reasons. You start to doubt the religion and you pursue truth. As a Christian, I came to my belief after years of badgering Christians with confusing questions until enough of them got answered that I started having to answer things myself by doing research. Nobody can learn everything about every religion in order to make a choice, they only have to find the truth and then test others against it as necessary. Like driving a car. I don't know how everything works under the hood, and I don't know how every car manufacturer produces cars, but what I do know is that mine runs well and fulfills what it promises; to get me where I need to go.
