All the time. My gardens are only ever watered with rain collected in my 3 water butts. I use it to clean the car as well, usually when the car is already wet so I don't need to use detergents as much. I also use bath/shower water, syphoned out of the bathroom window using a hose, on the garden in dry spells. I used to live in a water metered house and I still think of water as the precious comodity it is. Only use tap water for human/animal consumption.

I collect water off my roof to water plants. I have a barrel that fills up and I dip water from it. In the late summer there is not enough moisture to collect.

Theoretically (which might assume rain falls rapidly down) a flat roof could seize the main rain if it quite is the comparable base area because of the fact the pitched. although if, the rain clouds are continuously moving, and as such, rain droplets are additionally moving at an perspective, so a pitched roof could carry at the same time greater regularly. ideally, the roof could desire to be perpendicular to the rain droplets' course (to seize the main rain), yet in view that this could variety by applying typhoon or perhaps by applying droplet, you may basically assume an difficulty-unfastened could be close sufficient.

It's the only kind I use. I turn the tap on in the kitchen or the bathroom and out it comes. Where on earth do you think ALL water comes from? Even the trendy very, very expensive bottled water is rain water.

Yes, I use it to fill my under ground water tanks. This helps in dry season when little water is available for my plants.
