Chinchilla sneezing?
Hi, last night my chinchilla started to have several sneezing attacks (about 3 sneezes). I use odorless aspen bedding and I checked his eyes, and nose for any discharge and have not found anything. I was just wondering if chinchilla's can get colds and what the method of treatment should be?

Chins can catch some cold bugs from people.
If she is not showing any symptoms, is may still be early... or could be nothing at all.
To be on the safe side, I would offer her some berry flavored yogurt with ACTIVE cultures. Cut out ALL other treats, and let her have about 1/2 teaspoonful a day for several days, then every other day for a week. Once a week there after would not hurt. This will boost the immune system and aid digestion.
Continue regular pellets and hay, but keep an eye out for any nasal or eye discharge. Chins are prey animals, and have a way of showing no ill effects until it is very late in the sickness. If the poops change (getting green or slimy), call the vet and get her there ASAP!~
When ever you or anyone that is around the chin has any cold or respiratory problems, take extra care in washing hands and refrain from touching the chin, it cage, food or equipment. Hand sanitizer also helps

Cats can get colds so I think that chinchillas can to just call a vet and ask him. the best thing to do is to leave him be though.
