Should I get a Varsity jacket?

We finally got my National Honors Society Varsity Letter (after 6 months of complaining to our adviser) and I am not sure in what to do with it. I'll also have my band letter and note when I ask for it. But I'm not sure if I want to get a jacket or not. I feel it's kind of late, since I'm a senior and by the time I get it it will probably be in February. Now if I would have gotten the stupid letter back in April when we were supposed to, I wouldn't be having to ask this because I would have gotten it.

But anyways, I think 10 years from now I would regret not getting one. I think it's a big deal personally, but I also think it's a little too late.

Any ideas? And if not, what is something I can do with my letters so I don't loose them?

I don't think it's too late. Get the jacket...you will appreciate it later on, even if you don't wear it. The jackets are cool because you can attach your letters and pins and stuff to it. Great to look back on in the future. I got a band jacket when I was in high school...it was a satin jacket with the school's logo and mascot embroidered on the back. I had my band letter sewn on it, as well as various other patches and pins from contests and events that we participated in. I loved it when I was in high school and every once in awhile, when I'm going through my old stuff, it's fun to look at all the stuff and remember the memories associated with them (I'm big on preserving memories). I graduated from HS almost nine years ago.

If you choose not to get the jacket, you could hang your letters on a bulletin board in your room or put them in a scrapbook, especially if it's a scrapbook about your high school years or your senior year in particular. Hope this helps and congrats on your achievements!

Will you wear the jacket after high school? If not then I wouldn't bother getting the jacket. you could frame the letter. maybe even a double frame one side a picture of friends or a event from school related to NHS, possibly a graduation picture, then the other side could be the letter framed, this you can have forever and display, but you probably won't be wearing your varsity jacket much past next year if that. Either way congrats on recieving the NHS letter and good luck in college :)

It's really up to you. You won't wear it after high school (if you were thinking about it- stop now. Nothing screams freshman and loser at college like a high school letter jacket). But it is certainly a memento that is nice to have. You do sound like you really want to get one, then you should. Yeah, you won't have it for long, but you will still have it.

If you don't want a jack get a sweater.

In our school you used to have to have three lttrs to get a jacket... so before I got mine I got a sweater.

I have my jacket, and you really aren't missing anything... You put them on mat board in a frame with your group photos that way they won't get dirty come to think of it I should have done that.
