What is with all the New Zealand questions in Australia's section?
Do people know that Australia and New Zealand are different countries and there are separate sections for questions on each country?
- I am not talking about the people answering, I'm talking about when ASKING a question, the system automatically designates it to an area which it thinks is suited. There is an Australia section and a New Zealand section. People need to get their countries right because it will only make more people think that they are the the same country. It's like saying Canada is part of the US.

I usually try to explain to them in my answer that they'd get more knowledgeable answers in the N.Z. section.
You're right, many people do think Aussies and Kiwis are all from the same country.
(I find it interesting when folk get upset about something because THEY didn't read the question properly.)

Interestingly, New Zealand did once belong to the Colony of New South Wales (Australia)! I know it's true because I've seen the documents in the National Archives in Wellington New Zealand. You can go and look at it, along with the documents relating to the Treaty of Waitangi. I gather that NZ became a separate country prior to federation in Australia.

Right now I am answering your question from an All English Speaking Board. People on it are from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. So unless a person when asking a question specifically gives the country it pertains to you might get answers from people of all 5 countries.

They probably don't realize that New Zealand has it's own section. And a lot of people do think that New Zealand is a part of Australia.
