how do you make syrup out of bitter melon (ampalaya) leaves?

how do you make ampalaya(bitter melon) syrup from bitter melon leaves? or do you make them out of the fruit itself instead of the leaves? either way, please tell me if you know how.. thanks..

also, any sites that might help would be appreciated.. lol.. thanks a lot.. ^_^

    Bitter Melon Syrup

    5 cups seeded Bitter Melon pulp

    1 cup sugar syrup*

    2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

    1. Puree Bitter Melon and leaves in a food processor.

    2. Pour into sauce pan. Stir in the syrup and lemon juice.

    3. Cook for 15 min. Turn off and strain.

    *To make sugar syrup; Combine 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for one minute. Stirring constantly until all of the sugar has dissolved. Cool in the refrigerator.
