Yes, my God and I made peace many years ago. We co-exist nicely.

I guess, I was bought up with a Irish Catholic, 13 years in Private Catholic school, with the 4 years High School being all girls. Sunday mass and all the Holydays at church. I knew the Mass in Latin, backward and forwards.Nuns's teaching. So I got a better than normal education. But i felt I was also being brainwashed to some extent. I did not get any answers to a question for the Nuns regarding evolution or the Bible teaching of creation when I was in the 4th grade, and that kind of irked me to no end. I had this thing also about the Last Proficy from our Lady of Fatima. As I had this thing about Bernadette and the Lady. I was waiting and waiting for it to be reveled by the Pope in the mid 60's or so, and then it was decided that he was not going to announce what it was.
I was a little peterbed to say the least. They also stopped saying the Latin Mass and went to all this modern music, Hallalujah type mass and it was not for me. I have not been to Mass in ages.I did not raise my two kids in any particular religion, they were Baptized, but no formal religious upbringing. I figured I would not force anything on them growing up and they could decide for them selves what if any religion they wanted to be when they grew up. But live the do unto others rule. And try to be fair in my life. If I get to Heaven great. If not I definitley can't say I haven't tried. I know I have'nt killed anybody yet, although I've been tempted. Ex's are like that LOL!!! I am what I am, and no disrespect meant to anybody else's religious beliefs.

Very much so. I am a humanist and do not believe that people need clergy, churches, dogma, ritual, or superstition to find truth, be good people, and help correct what is wrong in their lives or in the lives of others.
I believe that many churches, founded on the teachings of good people, have corrupted these teachings as part of the attainment of power and fulfillment of greed. However, I respect the rights of others to embrace religions if that is their need. I believe that people should come to religious beliefs through careful investigation and reason, and not just because they grew up in it or someone says that that's the way it is.
I believe that religion is largely a human invention that people have created to explain that which they cannot explain, especially death and afterlife, by passing the responsibility to a higher authority.
I believe in "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you" and do not believe that it is a religious statement. I believe in the mutual respect that all of us deserve because of our humanity and that all other forms of respect must be earned. I believe that we have it within ourselves to explain all of the things for which people use religion, including paranormal events and coincidence. I believe in order and regularity in the universe, which some people call "God."
I believe that much of the misunderstanding today stems from the inability for people to understand the difference between a belief system and an empirical system. Belief is immutable but empiricism can be changed as new discoveries are made. However, I believe that the two can coexist as long as they are kept separate.
I am grateful that I have an understanding wife, who is religious and the daughter of a pastor, who also understands and supports my right to my views.
I know that I can have a near-religious experience in a natural, beautiful place, far more so than I have had in any church.
Having said all that, if I had an epiphany, everything might change.

I am a humanist, and Gerald G has summed up this belief perfectly. I am fully satisfied with my beliefs, and do not expect to alter them any time in the future. I've spent a lifetime studying various religions, and feel the same about pretty much all of them. I'm happy and content the way I am.

I am very much reconciled with my faith in God! I am not a religious person but, I am a Christian. Big difference between these two things, religion and christianity.
To me, religion is the way we choose to worship. Christianity, is my relationship with the Lord God. Therefore, I am content, happy and made whole, in my beliefs.

I was raised in a STRICT Roman Catholic home. Today, although I believe in God, I do not believe in organized religion and all it's hypocrisy. Love Jesus, just not His "fan club".
What hypocrisy you ask? Go to the Vatican and look at all their artwork. Selling only 5% could solve an enormous amount of problems in this world. What are they saving it for the rapture? God is not pleased.

Yes. I'm an adult convert to Catholicism. And after spending most of my life investigating and tracing my faith I've realized that all of the message of Jesus can be summed up in three sentences:
1. You are loved.
2. You are forgiven.
3. You are saved.

yes i am. i am a traditional roman catholic meaning--------- we do not follow the pope, he is just too liberal. we have a latin mass. our service is pre vatican 2 ( early 60's). us women still wear a head covering, long skirts and sleeves, and we never show cleavage. have been a member for 8 yrs., and would never return to a modern catholic church again. when one walks into our church you at once tell that this is a holy place, not a social. God's blessings to you !!
