Yes, percocet is okay to take. I have been on it for quite some time now and have learned that it's actually quite safe to take while pregnant. You may, however, want to see if you can get a prescription of your own because it's actually illegal to take it from someone else. Make sure you mention it to your doctor before you take it and eat before you take it or you could get sick!
Why did I get a thumbs down?? My OB is the one that prescribed me the stuff, why would I tell her it's okay to take if it's not?? I actually just took one myself, I have serious neck and back problems. Am I wrong for that??
Like I said, ask you doctor before you take it - he might want to give you something else instead but it is PERFECTLY safe to take during pregnancy.

I don't know. Ask your doc about it before you take anything. It may be ok, but I would rather have a medication prescribed to me first. Remember that drugs come in an assortment of dosages. The dosage that your friend gave you may be too strong for you as a pregnant women and your baby. Your doctor will precribe you something at just the right dosage for you.

I won't recommend it. Try taking extra strengthTylenol first to see if it take the edge off. Call your doctor first. Some doctors will prescribe Darvocet but percocet is too strong I think. Even though you don't see the Dr until the 9th he may call you in something now. Good luck

With out knowing you history I can not say that it is ok to take an others pain medication. Are you crazy or what!!! You are pregnant and you did not ask your doctor???? Blue (the cat) says that you should know better. There is always a doctor on call to answer your questions no matter how simple they are. Get on that phone right now and ask them what to do. Your back pain may indicate a bigger problem. Happy New Year and Good Luck

People who don't know the answer should leave their opinions out!
I am 37 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been given Percocet my entire pregnancy for headaches and back pain.
Its fine to take as long as you have a prescription from your doctor, don't take it unless you have one.
If you are having a lot of pain ask your doctor for something and hopefully he will write you something.
Yes it is a narcotic but its also safe when given to you by a doctor.
Good luck

Hunny, if you're having really bad back pain my best adivce to you is to get to the hospital ASAP. I was having bad back pain and went to my doc and he told me it was fine, but I was in the hospital an hour later because it had gotten worse. They never checked to see if I was dilated. They let me lay there for 10 hours and never checked to see if I was dilated. As they were discharging me they noticed my water had broke in my sleep, needless to say, I was in labor the whole time. And my babies came early at 22 weeks and did not surrive. MAKE SURE YOU GET CHECKED FOR POSSIBLE DILATION!!! No, percocet is not okay. It's a narcotic, and you're told not to take any drugs while being pregnant because the baby can become addicted.
