Wireless pc to non wireless printer?
I have an HP laptop which I run wireless, and an HP printer that does not have wireless capabilities. I have to hook the PC to the printer everytime I want to print, which is fine. But as soon as I disconnect the Pc from the printer to use it wireless again, the next time I need to print and I hook it up again, I need to download the printer to my PC all over again.
My question is, is there a device out there that I can connect to either my printer or my PC to enable me to print wirelessly?
I only have the one Laptop...there is no desktop, and the router I run off of, is connected to nothing but the DSL modem.

Jen,
I have a HP wireless laptop and a non-wirless HP printer as well, just like you. I went to the computer store and asked the same question as you. they told me there is not anything to connect to your printer to make it wireless. I have to continue to plug in my printer to my laptop every time I want to print.
One thing that may help you is this...I don't have to download the printer every time i want to print. I have the printer drivers downloaded on my laptop. You should not have to download the driver for the printer every time. I think you need to make sure you SAVE the printer driver on your laptop. Seems to me for some reason you keep losing the printer driver. this must be very frustrating. i hope this helps. let me know if you find anything out about making your printer wireless. Thank you and good luck.

Once you install the printer drivers in the laptop, make sure that you make that printer the Default printer and you should only have to plug in and print.

yeah .. it's easy .. if you bought a wireless network card adapter for the PC ... then you will be able to connect it to the wireless network, and when your laptop is connected to the same wireless network, you can just share the printer which is connected to the PC .. and use it wireless .. but the PC has to be on and connected ...
Tip: if the wireless network is the same as the network that is connected to your PC ... then you don't need a wireless adapter
