free music downloads? legal would be nice?

no strings attached, absolutely free, NOT limewire, tons of songs, easy to download the songs, fast loading.

You could try Sentero (www.sentero.net). It's not actually free, but if you register (which is free) they give you $2.50 in your account and songs are only 25 cents, so that's ten songs free and it's legal. The only absolutely free place is probably myspace.

check MySpace. Fan myspace sites [in the music section] often post downloadable songs.

[you don't have to have a myspace, but if you're on yahoo.answers, chances are that you do]

    or www.purevolume.com

You have to search a bit, and i don't know if it's legal [i'm betting not]

    but it's pretty easy.

downloads.nl is a pretty good site. I haven't been able to find a few songs on it, but it's worth a try.

You're looking for the impossible, but for songs posted out there: http://skreemr.com/

If you want a p2p app, soulseek.

just go to iTunes. would it kill you to pay .99 per song? its really not much.
