Nonsense! Of course you can gallop. But you do have to be aware of the effect on your horse.
Horses that are galloped generally like to gallop. So much so that they sometimes become prone to taking off with little notice. Also you should not gallop around other people on horses as their horses will pick up on the excitement and can cause trouble for their riders.
It is suggested that you do not gallop gaited horses much as they will try to canter and gallop at the faster gaited speeds when they should be gaiting. Then it becomes very hard to keep them in their gait. However even many of these have a fine gallop and stay calm and collected even then.

There is nothing wrong with galloping. Whoever told you that you can't gallop doesn't know what they're talking about.
I gallop my horse almost every time I ride for conditioning.

Have fun! The horses love it when they can compete in a friendly gallopping race. Be sure you are safe and wearing the right kind of safety equipment while doing so. Remember, saftey first and then the fun will start.

If it's in a safe place, and the horse is healthy, i think a gallop is great for you, and the horse!
I think nothing makes you feel quite as free as a good run.
Also, it can help you and the horse become closer.

Galloping is fine and the horse really loves that sort of freedom. I work and do guided beach rides, in the evening a lot of times we have to ride the horses thirty block to the trailer on the sand, a lot of times we let them just run and the love it.

why wouldn't it be okay to gallop.?
horses do it all the time on there own in the pastures, so it'll be fun for you too; just dont over run them;
get them warmed up then just canter him/her for a little bit off and on && then go into your gallop;
its worth it =]

I love to gallop,when I ask her to of course!I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you can handle it and the footing is safe, and the horse will obidently transition back to a canter when asked and not want to run off-lol

There's nothing wrong with a good gallop, most horses enjoy it, just don't push them too hard.

Galloping a couple times a week is actually really good for your horse because it lets them stretch out and loosen their muscles!
It's also super fun for the rider.. : )
It's not too good for the horse if they do the same thing all the time when you ride. for example. dressage, you don't want them to be in a frame all the time! it's good to let them stretch and loosen their muscles.
