    Commonly Observed Adverse Events

    Major Depressive Disorder

The most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of paroxetine (incidence of 5% or greater and incidence for PAXIL at least twice that for placebo, derived from Table 1) were: Asthenia, sweating, nausea, decreased appetite, somnolence, dizziness, insomnia, tremor, nervousness, ejaculatory disturbance, and other male genital disorders.

    Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

The most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of paroxetine (incidence of 5% or greater and incidence for PAXIL at least twice that of placebo, derived from Table 2) were: Nausea, dry mouth, decreased appetite, constipation, dizziness, somnolence, tremor, sweating, impotence, and abnormal ejaculation.

    Panic Disorder

The most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of paroxetine (incidence of 5% or greater and incidence for PAXIL at least twice that for placebo, derived from Table 2) were: Asthenia, sweating, decreased appetite, libido decreased, tremor, abnormal ejaculation, female genital disorders, and impotence.

    Social Anxiety Disorder

The most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of paroxetine (incidence of 5% or greater and incidence for PAXIL at least twice that for placebo, derived from Table 2) were: Sweating, nausea, dry mouth, constipation, decreased appetite, somnolence, tremor, libido decreased, yawn, abnormal ejaculation, female genital disorders, and impotence.

    Generalized Anxiety Disorder

The most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of paroxetine (incidence of 5% or greater and incidence for PAXIL at least twice that for placebo, derived from Table 3) were: Asthenia, infection, constipation, decreased appetite, dry mouth, nausea, libido decreased, somnolence, tremor, sweating, and abnormal ejaculation.

    Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

The most commonly observed adverse events associated with the use of paroxetine (incidence of 5% or greater and incidence for PAXIL at least twice that for placebo, derived from Table 3) were: Asthenia, sweating, nausea, dry mouth, diarrhea, decreased appetite, somnolence, libido decreased, abnormal ejaculation, female genital disorders, and impotence.

    Incidence in Controlled Clinical Trials

The prescriber should be aware that the figures in the tables following cannot be used to predict the incidence of side effects in the course of usual medical practice where patient characteristics and other factors differ from those that prevailed in the clinical trials. Similarly, the cited frequencies cannot be compared with figures obtained from other clinical investigations involving different treatments, uses, and investigators. The cited figures, however, do provide the prescribing physician with some basis for estimating the relative contribution of drug and nondrug factors to the side effect incidence rate in the populations studied.

    Major Depressive Disorder

Table 1 enumerates adverse events that occurred at an incidence of 1% or more among paroxetine-treated patients who participated in short-term (6-week) placebo-controlled trials in which patients were dosed in a range of 20 mg to 50 mg/day. Reported adverse events were classified using a standard COSTART-based Dictionary terminology.

Less likely that all these symptoms are side effects of Paxil. I think you should try to change medicine. Try Zolofit in consultation with your doctor. Based on experience of my clients , Forgetfulness , Weight Gain , Sexual side effect can be attributed to Paxil.

The only effect I recall when taking paxil on three different times was some fatigue. I've also tried Zoloft and found any side effects hardly noticeable. You may wish to give that a try.

Paxil is Paroxetine, an SSRI used for depression, anxiety , OCD and panic disorder. The side effects include nausea +/- vomiting, especially when you first start the medication or when you increase the dose. It usually becomes better after the first three to four days, start low and increase slowly will help reduce the side effects.

Paxil is the only drug i've ever had side effects with. It made my dizzy, and it made me throw up a lot. I took it for 3 months, and when I got off of it I had terrible withdrawal symptoms. Do yourself a favor and switch to something else!

Your system is very sensitive to certain medications. Unfortunately, nausea and vomiting are a frequent side effect of many anti-depressants. Paxil side effects are numerous. Here's a link to them. The list is too long to post.

Yes, I would definitely talk to my doctor about alternatives.

Being sick all the time is not fun, and it could lead to something more serious if you keep vomiting.

Switch over to prozacs or the newer age celexia. Paxil and evern prozacs are like a doctor told ancient so try celexia. You have a long steep road a head of you and it really is all up hill.

    What is paroxetine?

Paroxetine is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Paroxetine affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with depression, anxiety, or other disorders.

Paroxetine is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

The Brisdelle brand of paroxetine is used to treat hot flashes related to menopause. Brisdelle is not for treating any other conditions.

Paroxetine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Your body is still reacting to the chantix. It will take time for it to get out of your system. But contact your doctor and let them know your symptoms. You may also may be having an reaction to a higher dose of Paxil at one time. I take 20mgs a day and the only reaction I get is if I stop taking it.

  • Paxil is evil!

It causes weight gain in nearly woman who takes it and the withdrawal symptoms coming off of it are so brutal that many users have actually killed themselves. As such, they aren't even allowed to prescribe it to teenagers any more.

There was a class-action suit against the makers and my wife was a member of the class.

Go see your doc and get on something, anything, else.

there are alot of anti-depressants that have fewer side effects, but dont just stop taking them, they have to be slowly decreased just as they were slowly increased when you began them, this will also help decrease the possible side effects, go back to your dr and set up your personal game plan

    good luck!
