How do you convert square feet into acres?

    acres = (square feet) / 43560

    So take your (measured) area in square feet divide it by the number 43560 this will yield your answer in acres.

    If you are needing the area in "thousands of square feet" (a normal unit of measure used in say lawn fertilizer and chemical applications), exchange 43560 with 43.560. Your answer will now be in "thousands of square feet".

    OR

    DO it by hand the formula is 1 acre = 43,560 square foot

    so if you have 5 acres that is equal to 217,800 square feet. Hope this helps
